Dartmouth House is a grade II listed building in Mayfair which has been owned by The English-Speaking Union since 1926. The property is recognised as a building of national importance and is the current headquarters of the ESU.
Embrace Building Wraps were bought in to help the head office team at The English Speaking Union to mask off an unsightly scaffolding frame that towered above their delightful courtyard garden. With so many summer events being held in the property, the courtyard is a welcome place to enjoy some outside space at the venue, which is located in the heart of Central London.
Our creative department quickly got to work on some clever images to act as a trompe l’oeil, or trick of the eye, by appearing to extend the existing jasmine plant and Bath stone wall further upwards. We took photos from the location during our site survey and the creative team matched the look of the wall and reproduced the jasmine to scale and extended it naturally.
The printed building wrap was attached to one of our extended frames to mask the scaffold and it’s plain, unattractive cover sheet. Now, when guests are using the courtyard garden or walking between the buildings, the printed banner lifts the whole ambience of the area as the long-term building works are carried out on the adjacent property. You really do have to look twice to even notice that it is anything other than an integral part of the building and its appealing decorative courtyard garden.
Embrace Building Wraps once again have delivered a one stop shop service in project managing the building wrap from design conception and print through to the final installation. As ever, on time and on budget.
