Embrace Building wraps have recently installed a giant printed scaffolding banner at the landmark Selfridges building in London. What you may not realise is the meticulous attention to details required in delivering a project of this magnitude
The planning, site survey and client approval stages play a massive role in the way we operate. This is how we are able to deliver complex installation – including the largest in the UK – with ease.
For Selfridges this was a critical factor in why they chose to work with Embrace. We were able to meet exacting requirements through every stage of the process to give them confidence that the project would be a total success. Planning began way back in May last year for a project which ultimately would be installed smoothly in a brief three week window.
For this project we delivered everything our client needed to give them confidence to proceed with the project. This included providing detailed schematics of the banner construction – in producing a banner covering the corner of the building we actually produced and seamlessly joined five separate panels in order to work around elements such as exposed ladder beams.
We then used the approved flat plan to produce a desktop scale miniature mock-up of the final installation in order that Selfridges could really understand what the banner would look like before committing to the works.
We also produced an AO signed print of the artwork design in order for them to be able to review and comment in detail before approving the final artwork. We took our own photography and existing client images of the elevations to blend and create the one-to-one scale artwork design.
Even after the design approval we still took the time to make sure our client was fully onboard with the activity. We produced scaled down sections of the final design and installed the PVC sections on site before moving ahead with the full one-to-one scale imagery artwork. Again this enable us to reassure Selfridges that everything would be exactly as they would expect and to fine tune the detail before approval.
This level of attention to detail is exactly why Embrace are the go-to provider of giant building wraps in the UK
Greg Forster - managing director at Embrace Building Wraps - commented, “As with all projects the building wrap at Selfridges in London had many unique considerations that we are experienced to resolve, ensuring that the project is plain sailing for our client.”
Greg adds, “We fully understand that each installation is different and that the detailed planning and in depth site survey we provide as standard must leave no stone unturned, ensuring we are able to meet and exceed our client’s expectations with ease – as was the case at the iconic Selfridges store in London.”
