197-199 Sloane Street
THE DEVELOPMENT Sloane Street is a 1 kilometre stretch of the world’s finest luxury brands. The property located at 197-199 Sloane Street – part of the historic Cadogan Estate – was undergoing redevelopment works which included supporting the launch of an exciting new retail store.
THE BRIEF McLaren Construction contacted Embrace to support the project. The works required the installation of an unsightly three-sided 216 m2 scaffolding structure with wooden ply site hoarding panels attached on the lower levels of the main front elevation of the building.
The brief was to complete hide the structure, which would also require the creation multi-sided tunnel for pedestrians passing through.
Given the nature of the Knightsbridge location we were also understandably asked to deliver a premium and durable solution that would enhance the aesthetic of the area for the duration of the project rather than detract from it.
THE SOLUTION Embrace Building Wraps were able to install a giant DIBOND® wrap to meet the requirements of the brief exactly.
DIBOND® is an aluminium composite material which has a white high gloss surface – perfect for full colour digital printing in high resolution for a premium effect and no loss of colour or detail. We employed a transparent overlay protection film on the panels for further protection (including anti-graffiti) whilst also maximising the life and durability of the installation.
The panels were screwed directly to the plywood hoarding without gaps to deliver the seamless design across three elevations and fully encapsulating the internal tunnel. Finally all of the securing screw locations were also hidden by colour-matched caps.
Our solution stands 9 metres tall and measures 24 metres across, disguising the works on the lower levels of the Sloane Street property completely.
The bright and eye-catching graphics have elevated the environment whilst delivering a quality finish that reflects the neighbourhood. This installation was fully project managed by Embrace and – as you would expect – fully delivered on time and to the agreed budget.
