Albemarle Street
THE DEVELOPMENT 26 Albemarle Street W1 is one of London’s most prestigious addresses. Property developer Glebe were redeveloping the location working alongside Eric Parry architects in October 2013, converting a 1905 office building into a luxurious residential accommodation in the heart of London’s Mayfair directly opposite the Royal Institution.
The completed development would comprise of five unique lateral apartments including a luxury penthouse, along with an outside space whilst maintaining the breath-taking Beaux-Arts façade.
THE BRIEF When working at such an important address it is essential to maintain the affluent and appealing feel of the area, whilst remaining stylish, and maintaining a brand image of simple, sophisticated class. Not necessarily things you would associate with scaffolding and building works. As with many London projects the area is also particularly busy and materials needed to be durable for the life of the project and of the highest quality to protect the image of the brand.
THE SOLUTION Embrace Building Wraps delivered covered the scaffold in a premium and yet discreet manner, upholding the identity of the brand, developer and Mayfair location. The design was simple and sophisticated and used to promote the address of the development to generate interest. The wrap itself was visible from three separate elevations – directly opposite the building and when viewing from the top or bottom of the street. Additional complexities included the need for two tier coverage on the front elevation and maintaining an accessible hoist and access point from the front which could easily be opened or closed to maintain the impact of the wrap.
As you would expect with Embrace, the end result is stunning, fits the brief and was delivered on time and on budget – with us the price we quote following the site survey will always be the price you pay. Another fantastic project delivered for a great client in one of the most unique parts of central London.
