Newson’s Yard, Belgravia
THE DEVELOPMENT Newson’s Yard in Belgravia is a former builder’s yard located at 63 Pimlico Road in London. Grosvenor Estate are redeveloping the location to provide nine residential properties on the upper levels and premium quality retail on the ground floor whilst retaining the principal fabric of the historic structure. The site will also include a public walkthrough through the former timber yard and is due to complete during the Summer of 2022.
THE BRIEF The Embrace team were appointed to provide printed scaffolding banners to disguise the unsightly scaffold in place during the refurbishment of the traditional shop frontage. The location will have a steel façade retention system and access scaffold in place for the duration of the project.
Grosvenor Estate were delighted to be the launch partner and trailblazers of Embrace’s unique new PVC-free banners – an industry-disrupting new solution that dramatically enhances the environmental credentials of materials used in the industry.
THE SOLUTION The striking artwork carries high-resolution photography of a Rabanna print on cotton supplied by Fermoie, local creators of beautiful and original fabrics with a nearby store on the Pimlico Road. Two digitally printed scaffold wraps were deployed to conceal the unsightly temporary structures.
Businesses in all sectors are increasing looking for environmentally friendly solutions and searching for ways to leave a more positive and sustainable impact on our planet. Embrace were perfectly placed to support the Grosvenor Estate achieve this goal with our pioneering PVC alternative banners.
The revolutionary PVC-free banners are manufactured from a reusable textile which ultimately can be processed to safely generate energy-from-waste. This is compared to PVC substrate banners which are more harmful in production and are also not biodegradable or degradable – adding to the growing landfill problem.
Embrace Building Wraps have developed, tested and safety-certified our PVC-free eco-friendly alternative working alongside partners Kavalan and CMYUK, leaders in high quality green materials and large format digital print respectively.
The striking banner is a true industry disruptor and we are delighted to have been first to the UK market with this new eco-viable alternative to PVC. The Embrace team delivered the project on budget – as guaranteed – and to the agreed schedule.
